Spencer Academies Trust and Chetwynd Spencer Academy are excited to announce the grand opening of Chetwynd Spencer’s new Multi-Use Games Area (MUGA) which officially opened at the end of last term. The state-of-the-art facility was unveiled on 18^th December, with a special event that saw Nottingham Forest stars Anthony Elanga and Ola Aina join staff, students, and parents in celebrating this exciting milestone for the school.

Staff, parents and pupils at Chetwynd Spencer Academy are celebrating this week after receiving a tremendous report from their most recent Ofsted inspection. With the amazing work by the Chetwynd team, Ofsted have confirmed they have continued to maintain standards which were previously graded as ‘Outstanding’ in 2019.

In November, the Spencer Academies Trust Primary Pupil Parliament kicked off its first meeting of the academic year, bringing together bright young minds from across the Trust's primary schools. The morning was filled with excitement as pupils gained a deeper understanding of what it means to be a part of this initiative. They also had the chance to bond with their steering group teammates from other schools, and later brainstorm ideas and map out exciting projects to bring positive change to their schools in the coming term!

Representing their peers, two pupils from each Spencer primary school join the Parliament, meeting once a term to tackle the issues that matter most to them, with steering groups focusing on key themes including the environment, community, teaching and learning, and SEND and inclusion.

Staff, parents and pupils at Brackensdale Spencer Academy are celebrating this week after receiving a phenomenal report from their recent Ofsted inspection. In line with the new grading system, the school were awarded ‘Good’ for Quality of Education, Behaviour and Personal Development and ‘Outstanding’ for Leadership and Management and Early Years Provision.

This is a truly remarkable achievement following the Academy’s starting point with the Spencer Academies Trust when they academised and joined the Trust back in April 2021, following their previous inspection as Brackensdale Primary School, which rated the school as ‘Inadequate’ in 2019.

Clover Leys Spencer Academy celebrated its grand opening last month with a Halloween-themed fun fair and official ribbon-cutting ceremony, bringing together pupils, parents, staff and the local community for an afternoon of spooky festivities!

The day saw pupils take part in a range of activities, including pumpkin-carving, face-painting, penalty shootouts and burying a time capsule of artwork, along with performances from the children in the school hall. Children also dressed up in creative costumes, with themes ranging from classic witches and superheroes to imaginative DIY designs, adding a special touch to the community celebration.

Spencer Academies Trust and Chellaston Fields Spencer Academy proudly share the incredible achievements of Daisy Sutcliffe, a pupil in Year 2 at Chellaston Fields, who was selected to represent Team England in the 2024 Dance World Cup in Prague earlier this year and won First Place and Gold in her group song and dance performance!

The Dance World Cup is the world’s largest dance competition for children and young adults, with the 2024 event the largest to date, with 9,500 dancers from 54 countries taking part!
