    After its inspection in January, Hilton Spencer Academy has maintained its good rating from Ofsted.

    In its first Ofsted inspection since 2018, Hilton Spencer Academy maintained a rating of Good. The report indicates that children and staff are proud to be part of their school community.

  • Glenbrook Spencer Academy granted Good at latest Ofsted inspection

    Glenbrook Spencer Academy pupils and teachers are celebrating after receiving a radiant ‘Good’ across all five judgments, including Quality of Education, Leadership, Behaviour and Attitudes, Personal Development, and their Early years provision during a full section 5 inspection.

    The primary Academy, located in Bilborough is part of the Spencer Academies Trust family. During the inspection the Academy was praised for its leadership and aspirations for their pupils. His Majesty’s inspector commented, ‘Leaders are very ambitious for all pupils to do well. The aspirational Going for Gold motto is at the heart of school life.’ The opportunities leaders create for the students was also admired ‘Leaders ensure that pupils get a wide range of experiences to broaden their horizons.’

    The inspector also acknowledged that pupils are happy at the academy ‘Pupils are happy to be a part of Glenbrook Spencer Academy. They also accredited that ‘Pupils feel safe in school’. They told inspectors that ‘everyone is protected here.’ With comments also raised that ‘Pupils know there is support on hand if they need it.’

    Tom Stockwell, Principal of Glenbrook Spencer Academy was delighted with the recent grading;

    “The report reflects the great place that Glenbrook is for our pupils, colleagues and families.  We are very proud of the great education that we give our pupils and of how well our pupils represent our school.  Following the Ofsted, we have continued with our relentless drive to do the very best for our community.”

    The curriculum was also observed as being ‘well designed’ and praise given for ‘Every subject has been planned in small, logical steps.’ The academy’s reading spine which sets out the books that pupils will read in each year group was also highlighted, ‘Pupils enjoy these stories, and they learn lots from them.’

  • Double Department for Education visits across SAT Academies

    Spencer Academies Trust were delighted to host the Department of Education recently to see four of our academies in action and how they each serve their diverse range of communities and catchments.

    Kelly Hughes, Sally Gladwin and Emily Bonnett were inspired by the leadership at two of our secondaries – Derby Moor Spencer, in Littleover, Derby, hot off the back of its recent ‘good’ inspection, and Rushcliffe Spencer- one of our inaugural ‘World Class’ academies in West Bridgford in Nottinghamshire.

  • Ashwood Spencer Academy achieves Inclusion Quality Mark and Centre of Excellence Award

    Ashwood Spencer Academy located in Allenton has recently achieved the Inclusive School Award with Centre of Excellence status given by the IQM. 

    The primary school, which is part of the Spencer Academies Trust was awarded this for its commitment to inclusive practice. The school provides a welcoming and safe environment that has been purposefully and deliberately thought out to best meet the needs of Ashwood’s pupils. Staff at all levels are passionate about moving barriers for all pupils and there is a clear understanding of shared values.

  • SAT Pupil Parliament present to CEO and Primary Director

    Five members from the current SAT Pupil Parliament team across our primary academies gathered today to talk about their roles and showcase their ideas to the trust CEO, Paul West, and Primary Director, Angela O’Brien.

    The Trust Pupil Parliament Representatives facilitated a debate across their schools which focused on how all Spencer Academies Trust pupils should be treated equally. Every child in the Trust was able to vote on the issue.

  • Work begins on Millside Spencer Academy’s permanent school

    Published 14/10/22

    The Millside Spencer Academy is being built on former farming land on Rempstone Road in East Leake, as part of a £14 million investment in education in the village, led by Nottinghamshire County Council and its partners.

    It is expected to open for the new school year in September 2023 and will eventually have a capacity for 315 primary places plus a 26-place nursery.

  • Farnborough Spencer Academy awarded transformational Good OFSTED report

    Farnborough Spencer Academy’s pupils and staff are proud after receiving a turnaround ‘Good’ Ofsted report across all four judgments, including Quality of Education, Leadership, Behaviour and Attitudes, and Personal Development, during a full section 5 inspection, the first since joining Spencer Academies Trust in 2018.

    The academy, located in Clifton, is part of the Spencer Academies Trust. The inspection was designed to re-assess the academy’s status after the predecessor school received two inadequate Ofsted gradings in 2013 and 2017. This was the first full inspection following the conversion, and everyone involved was thrilled to see the transformation in status.

  • Successful SAT Leadership Strategy Day

    Leaders from across the Spencer Academies Trust joined together for the annual ‘Trust Leadership Strategy Day’ last Friday. Over 80 members including Academy Principals, Trust Senior Leaders, Trustees and Central Support professionals were in attendance.

    CEO Paul West began by introducing the ‘One Spencer’ strategy that will focus on ten goals over the next three years to help support our Trust and Academies to execute, our ambition to be both exceptional and outstanding.   • Millside Spencer Academy open for new school term

    The latest Primary to join Spencer Academies Trust Millside Spencer Academy has opened its doors for the first cohort of students for the new school term.

    Located in East Leake, Millside Spencer Academy is part of the County Council’s development plan for education in the East Leake area of Rushcliffe. Students from across East Leake joined their teachers and support staff for the start of term, and have settled in well to the learning village.
