Spencer Academies Trust announce new appointments

We are delighted to announce three new appointments to the Trust Central team.
Firstly, we would like to welcome Laurie Snaith who joins us as Trust Head of Governance. Laurie has previously worked as a Business Officer and Governance Professional in both a local academy setting and as part of a larger MAT. Prior to this, Laurie held positions as an Executive Assistant and Company Secretary in the private sector following completion of a graduate scheme in Business Management.

SAT CEO, Paul West, ‘I’m delighted to welcome Laurie to our Trust Central team as Head of Governance. Laurie will work alongside our Central Team, Trust Directors and Governing Body to further develop our governance priorities and support”.
Laurie is keen to keep up with professional development and continued education and is currently completing her MA in Human Resources Management. Outside of work, she enjoys cycling and spending time with her family.
We also welcome Matt Palfreeman, who has joined us as Trust Procurement Partner. Prior to joining the Trust, Matt had spent the previous 10 years working in the construction industry for the Hire Supply Company, initially as a Sales Advisor and then working his way up to the title of Group Buyer.
‘I’m thrilled to be joining the trust and working with such an enthusiastic and dedicated team. With this being my first role within the education sector I’m very much looking forward to the new challenge that this will pose and being able to play my part in the education and development of so many children across the region.’
SAT CEO, Paul West, ‘Matt is an important addition to our Trust Central Team. As Trust Procurement partner, Matt will work alongside our Finance and Central Team to ensure that we secure the very best value from our contracts and partners.’
In his spare time Matt likes to swim and also goes for walks in the countryside and nearby Wollaton Hall. Matt has also recently become engaged and has his wedding planned for March 2023.
Harjodh Athwal, joins SAT as our Apprentice Digital Marketing Assistant. Prior to joining the Trust Harj had commenced an apprenticeship at the Yarway Group, an educational institution, and has now progressed to SAT to complete his Level 3 Apprenticeship in Digital Marketing.
‘I am very happy to be joining Spencer Academies Trust as a Digital Marketing Apprentice. I am equally as excited and determined to further my knowledge and pick up valuable experience along my journey with the amazing support of my colleagues.’
SAT CEO, Paul West, ‘We welcome Harj to our Trust Central team as our Apprentice Digital Marketing assistant. Harj will work as a member of our Marketing and Communication’s Team to support the delivery of SAT’s Communication Strategy, as well as providing support for our academies.’
Outside of work Harj likes to stay healthy and active, through the gym and football. He is also a big Arsenal fan.
