Matthew Taylor joins Spencer Academies Trust Executive Leadership Team
We are delighted to announce that Matthew Taylor is joining the Executive Leadership Team at Spencer Academies Trust as Executive Director of Digital Transformation and Infrastructure.
Matthew has been an integral part of Spencer since joining the Trust in 2023, and in this new role, will build on his work across the organisation, providing strategic leadership for digital transformation, data and infrastructure.
A values-led system leader, Matthew brings experience spanning education, organisational transformation, governance and public service. His work at Spencer has already seen him lead significant Trust-wide transformation programmes, strengthening resilience, digital safeguarding, collaboration and operational consistency, while delivering financial efficiencies and developing internal capability.
Matthew believes technology and data should be practical enablers – reducing workload, improving decision-making and helping to create more equitable opportunities for children and young people.
His commitment to ethical leadership also extends beyond his role at Spencer. Matthew has served as a magistrate since 2017 and is a Multi-Academy Trust Trustee and Chair of Governors. He is currently completing an Executive MBA at Nottingham Business School.
