Dame Alison Peacock visits two Spencer Academies Trust schools

Spencer Academies Trust were delighted to welcome Dame Alison Peacock, CEO of the Chartered College of Teaching, for visits to two of its academies last week. Dame Alison toured both Chetwynd Spencer Academy and Heanor Gate Spencer Academy to see first-hand the high-quality teaching and nurturing environments that characterise Trust schools.

Her visit began at Heanor Gate Spencer Academy, where she was hosted by Principal, Matt Jones, and Spencer Academies Trust CEO, Paul West. Dame Alison met with students across a range of subjects and discussed professional development, curriculum, and leadership with school and Trust colleagues.

She then travelled to Chetwynd Spencer Academy, where Principal, Lorraine Jackson, and Tammy Elward, Director of Spencer Alliance for Leadership and Teaching, accompanied her on a tour of the primary school. Dame Alison spent time in classrooms, speaking with pupils and staff about their learning experiences and the school’s commitment to evidence-informed practice.

Dame Alison praised both academies for their warm, purposeful atmosphere and for the commitment shown by staff to delivering high-quality education. Spencer Academies Trust looks forward to continuing its partnership with the Chartered College of Teaching to support ongoing professional development and exemplary practice across education.
