Spencer Academies Trust students celebrate best ever GCSE results

Students across Spencer Academies Trust are celebrating their best ever set of GCSE results today, with achievements once again above national averages.
This year, 72% of entries across the Trust’s eight secondary schools achieved grade 4 or above in English and Maths, while 54% secured grade 5 or higher. The Trust’s Attainment 8 score, 49.5, also exceeded the national average from 2024, alongside a rise in the number of pupils entered for the English Baccalaureate (EBacc - those entering qualifications in English, maths, sciences, a language and either history or geography), now standing at 43%, and the Average EBacc Point Score, 4.45.
These results are a testament to the determination and commitment shown by Spencer students, the dedication of staff, and the invaluable support of families and school communities across the Trust.
Over 2,000 Year 11 students from Arnold Hill, Derby Moor, Farnborough, George Spencer, Heanor Gate, John Port, Long Field and Rushcliffe academies collected their results this morning, celebrating the success of their hard work throughout the year.
The Trust extends its warmest congratulations to all students on their achievements and thanks parents, carers, and staff for their ongoing commitment and support. We wish every student the very best as they progress to the next stage of their education or training.
Chief Executive, Paul West, said, “Following the terrific Post 16 results posted last week, we are very pleased to share such positive KS4 outcomes for our Year 11 students. We are delighted to welcome many of our students that are returning to our academies as sixth form students, and wish all students the very best for the next step of their journey.”
Director of Secondary Education, Fraser Mitchell, added, “I’m thrilled with these record-breaking results. It’s a tribute to the hard work of all of our Spencer students and our fantastic staff who have worked so hard in partnership with them to achieve them. Congratulations, everyone!”
