Sixth Form Success across The Spencer Academies Trust

There were celebrations in every Spencer Academies Trust Academy with a sixth form this morning. Each academy surpassed the outcomes they achieved in the last formal exam season of 2019, including at A*/A and B grades, in contrast to some of the national news headlines earlier this week.

Just under 800 Spencer Trust sixth formers across the region collected their results today, with their average grade up to a ‘B’ from a ‘C’ in 2019, and top grades at A*/A and A*-B up by around 15% each respectively.

Paul West, Chief Executive, said, “I’m thrilled for every one of our Spencer students and so proud of our academy staff who have worked tirelessly with our young people to achieve these remarkable grades, despite everything that they have had to deal with over the last few years.

Vocational qualifications saw a similar rise to A-levels, with Spencer students achieving an average grade of ‘Distinction’ this year. Fraser Mitchell, Secondary Director of Education, commented, “Whatever you want to study at Post 16, whether it is A-level or vocationally focused, I’m proud of the support you get to achieve your best at our academies. Congratulations to every one of our students and our Spencer academy teams who made these fantastic results possible.”

We wish all of our Spencer students the very best in securing their destination of choice over the days ahead – whether at university, including for Oxbridge and Russell Group places, or for apprenticeships and the world of work. Well done, everyone!
