Spencer Academies Trust introduces Student Talent Pool

The programme will create a direct path for current students to become apprentices within the Trust.
Through partnership between Spencer Apprenticeships and the Trust’s secondary academies, Spencer Academies Trust is launching a talent pool for current students to work for the Trust.
Students at all six of the Trust’s secondary academies will have the opportunity to complete teaching assistant and business administration apprenticeships within the Trust. Spencer academy alumni will also be given priority for apprenticeship appointments.
In addition to supporting the Trust in its recruitment, the talent pool offers young people between the ages of 16 and 18 valuable career experience. The application process is straightforward and thoughtfully designed to provide a balance of real-world procedures and professional guidance; interested students will complete a straightforward application, then schedule an interview before being put in the talent pool. They will also be given two interview questions in advance, giving them the opportunity to practice and prepare.
Apprenticeships Operations Manager Sarah Kelly said, “This is an exciting opportunity for our work as an apprenticeship provider to support the careers provision of our school and capture the talent and potential within the communities we serve. We feel this is part of the ethos of the apprenticeship mission: connecting people with ambition to organisations with vision!”
Director of Post-16 Susan Sharp said, ““The new talent pool is a great opportunity for students to join our team. We have some high-quality apprenticeships with exciting career prospects. I am looking forward to meeting the students at the upcoming event and supporting them with their applications. We have very talented students who we would love to keep within the Spencer family.”
CEO Paul West said, “The student talent pool is an innovative solution to both address the Trust’s recruitment needs and offer a fantastic career opportunity for our young people within the Trust. We are eager to see this programme grow in exciting ways.”
The Spencer Apprenticeships programme is holding a virtual information session for interested students on Wednesday, 10 May at 3:30pm.
