Spencer Academies Trust celebrate outstanding A-Level results across Spencer family of schools

Sixth form students across the Spencer Academies family of schools are celebrating today after achieving another year of excellent A-Level results. 26% of grades awarded were at A*-A, and 55% at A*-B, reflecting the hard work and dedication of our young people.

The proportion of students awarded AAB or higher, including in at least two facilitating subjects (19.6%) and the average point score for applied general qualifications (33.01), both surpass last year’s national average figures. The average grade (B-) and average points score (36.31) also remain ahead of national performance measures for 2024.

This year’s achievements highlight the ambition, talent and resilience of our students, supported by the unwavering commitment of our teachers and staff across the Trust, whose guidance and encouragement, have helped them to aim high and achieve their goals.

Excitement and pride filled our schools this morning as over 800 Post-16 students from Arnold Hill, Derby Moor, George Spencer, Heanor Gate, John Port, and Rushcliffe collected their long-awaited A-Level results.

Among the many individual achievements, students have confirmed places at prestigious universities such as Oxford and Cambridge, while others gained entry onto competitive courses in Medicine, Architecture, Engineering, Veterinary Medicine and Dentistry. An increasing number are also taking up degree apprenticeships with leading employers including Amazon and Rolls Royce.

On behalf of everyone at Spencer Academies Trust, we extend our warmest congratulations to all our students celebrating their achievements today.
