  • Brackensdale Spencer celebrate remarkable transformation with recent Ofsted inspection

    Staff, parents and pupils at Brackensdale Spencer Academy are celebrating this week after receiving a phenomenal report from their recent Ofsted inspection. In line with the new grading system, the school were awarded ‘Good’ for Quality of Education, Behaviour and Personal Development and ‘Outstanding’ for Leadership and Management and Early Years Provision.

    This is a truly remarkable achievement following the Academy’s starting point with the Spencer Academies Trust when they academised and joined the Trust back in April 2021, following their previous inspection as Brackensdale Primary School, which rated the school as ‘Inadequate’ in 2019.

  • Derby Moor Spencer open brand-new Inclusion Centre of Excellence

    Derby Moor Spencer Academy are thrilled to announce the official opening of their brand-new, state-of-the-art Inclusion Centre of Excellence this week.

    The school welcomed MP Baggy Shanker, alongside Local Councillor, and former student, Gurkiran Kaur, who cut the ribbon to formally unveil the new building. Staff, students, local politicians, governors and guests from the Spencer Academies Trust were also in attendance on the day.

  • Clover Leys Spencer Academy holds official opening ceremony

    Clover Leys Spencer Academy celebrated its grand opening last month with a Halloween-themed fun fair and official ribbon-cutting ceremony, bringing together pupils, parents, staff and the local community for an afternoon of spooky festivities!

    The day saw pupils take part in a range of activities, including pumpkin-carving, face-painting, penalty shootouts and burying a time capsule of artwork, along with performances from the children in the school hall. Children also dressed up in creative costumes, with themes ranging from classic witches and superheroes to imaginative DIY designs, adding a special touch to the community celebration.

  • One Spencer Day: Derby Moor sixth formers deliver RE workshops to Spencer Trust Primary pupils

    A group of sixth formers from Derby Moor Spencer Academy recently hosted a day of learning centred around the teachings of Hinduism and Buddhism for fellow Spencer Trust primary pupils from Ashwood, Brackensdale, Castleward, Chellaston Fields, Highfields, Hilton, St Giles, The Mease and Wyndham Spencer Academies.

    The day was held at Ashwood Spencer and was an opportunity for our sixth formers to develop their leadership and communication skills through planning and leading their own workshops.
